            1834                                        land grant given (lots 1 and 2, West of George, South of McDonnel)

            1835 - 1874                            see Peterborough Circuit

 

            1835 Oct 25                            church opened (on current site of Kaye Funeral Home) (Kewley claims this date)

            1843                                        documents referring to existing WM church on lot 10 west of George and north of Simcoe (AO - Twp Papers -Peterborough Town) apparently as a result of “a struggle between the old Canadian Methodists and a body connected with Mr Ryerson”.

            1844                                        second church built (corner George and McDonnel) beside the original church, across George St from the current church.

            1853 - 1854                            addition made to the church

            1874                                        to Methodist Church of Canada as Peterborough-George St
