1837 John Gilmour arrives as an agent of the New England Company, to minister to the natives at Chemong, Rice Lake, and Balsam Lake.
1840 church built, west of present building, on land donated by Robert Nicholson
1842 Organized (per 1897 Baptist Year Book)

1846 mission to Warsaw area started., with support from the Bloomfield (Hallowell) church near Picton.

1886 Lakefield becomes an independent church
1887 joins the Peterborough Association of Baptist Churches
1887 - 1890 J B Huff. Listed as a regular church, “Smith Line”
1890 Oct 26 second church opened (brick)
1890 name changed to Gilmour Memorial Baptist Church

1892 name changed to Gilmour Memorial
