Also known as the Chivalric Knights of America.
Formed in the USA in 1872 or 1873, essentially to help members find jobs and aid them if unemployed. The mutual benefit arm was called the Eagle Home Association. The Knights hit their peak in the 1920s and had essentially disappeared by the late 1970s, although there are some signs of continued existence.
Membership was open to Christian white men over 18, who were of good moral character, sound mental and physical health, able to write and support himself and were law abiding citizens./p>
The local unit was called a Castle. The ritual, based on crusader concepts, had three degrees: Pilgrim, Knight, and Crusader. There is a military-style adjunct which does not seem to have a name but which local units are called Commanderies, which confers the degree of Chivalry. There was a ladies group, the Ladies of the Golden Eagle.
Their ritual is online1.
