This interdenominational Christian service order was founded in the USA in 1886, originally as the King’s Daughters. The “and Sons” was added in 1887. It spread over a number of countries and at one time had about 50 000 members. It currently has about 5 000 members, mostly in Canada and the USA.
The local unit is called a Circle. A group of Circles is called a Branch, typically for a state or province. Branches come together in the International Order. A Circle is organized, not on a locality but on a particular project, so one locality can have several Circles. Currently in the Ontario Branch, Niagara-On-The-Lake has two circles and Ottawa has seven.
It is difficult to be certain but it appears that King’s Daughters Guild is another name for this organization.
