The Home Circle was formed in the US in 1879 as a men’s and women’s association connected to the Royal Arcanum. It was established in Canada on 1884 Oct 2 and a constitution published in 1885. It provided life insurance, sick benefits, and disability benefits. There were four degrees which essentially meant increasing amounts of insurance, from $500 to $3 500

The local unit was called a Circle.
